We believe that when a girl steps onto the turf, her only focus should be the game—not gear that doesn't fit, distracts her, or makes her feel self-conscious.
As a sports mom, I watched my daughters and their teammates navigate the youth sports world and noticed a glaring problem. Most "girls" sporting goods are just boys' equipment scaled down and painted pink. It doesn't accommodate a ponytail. It doesn't support a female athletic gait. And it certainly doesn't help a young athlete maintain her confidence as her body changes and grows.
When our girls want to try a new sport—soccer this season, field hockey the next, lacrosse in the spring—we want to say an immediate, enthusiastic "yes." But getting them ready to play shouldn't require a master's degree in sporting goods.
Right now, parents are forced to bounce between big-box retailers and random websites, stressing over what gear their daughters actually need, only to find that the major competitors are completely failing our girls.
